Victory is a local church dedicated to making disciples for Jesus Christ and creating community for the people of Fallon, NV. We hold to baptist doctrine and welcome all people, regardless of where they are on their faith journey.
God
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. We believe in one triune God, eternally existing in three persons-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections. Genesis 1:1, 26, 27, 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Deut. 6:4; John 14:10, 26
Jesus Christ
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful men. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; and that our justification is made sure by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to Heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God where, as our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry of Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate. Isa. 7:14; 9:6; Luke 1:35; John 1:1-2, 14; 2 Cor. 5:19-21; Gal. 4:4-5; Phil. 2:5-8 Acts 2:18-36; Rom. 3:24-25; 1 Pet. 2:24; Eph. 1:7; 1 Peter 1:3-5 Acts 1:9-10; Heb. 9:24; 7:25; Rom. 8:34; 1 John 2:1-2
Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer a spiritual gift when they are saved. As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily. 2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16, 17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25
The Scriptures
We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be the inspired Word of God. The Scriptures are inerrant, and God-breathed and, therefore, are the only authority for faith and life. The sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament are the complete and divine revelation of God to Man. The Scriptures are to be interpreted according to their normal grammatical-historical meaning. 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20,21; 2 Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119:105, 160, 12:6; Proverbs 30:5
Jesus Redeeming Work
A. Salvation Salvation is God’s free gift to us, but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith. Individuals in order to be saved must make a personal decision of repentance and faith in Christ. Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8, 9; John 14:6 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1; 10:9-17; 14:1-23
B. Eternal Security Because God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ, the true believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. If you have been genuinely saved, you cannot “lose” it. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives us this security. Satan cannot take away your Salvation. He can take away your peace and security. John 10:29; 2 Timothy 1:12; Hebrews 7:25, 10:10, 14; 1 Peter 1:3-5
Creation and Humankind
A. Creation We believe that God created the universe in six literal days. Genesis. 1-2; Exodus 20:11
B. Humanity We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God; but that in Adam’s sin the human race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God. Man is totally unable to remedy his lost condition on his own. Genesis 1:27; Isaiah 53:6a; Isaiah 59:1, 2; Rom. 3:22-23; 5:12; 6:23; Eph. 2:1-3; 4:17-19
C. Human relationships We believe that God created human sexuality and commanded that it is to be enjoyed and only within a marriage between a man and a woman. (Gen. 2:24; Gen. 19:5, 13 Gen. 26:8-9; Lev. 18:1-30; Rom. 1: 26-29; I Cor. 5:1; 6:9; 1 Thess. 4:1-8; Heb. 13:4)
The End Times
A. The Return of Christ We believe in that blessed hope, the personal, imminent return of Christ, and the Rapture of the Church. At the end of the Tribulation, Christ will personally and visibly return, to establish His earthly Messianic Kingdom which was promised to the nation of Israel. Scripture teaches that Jesus literally rose from the dead on the third day, ascended into glory, and that he will return to the earth bodily, personally and visibly. Ps. 89:3-4; Dan. 2:31-45; Zech. 14:4-11; 1Thess. 1:10, 4:13-18; Titus 2:13; Rev. 3:10; 19:11-16, 20:1-6
B. The Judgment Seat of Christ The Bible speaks of a special judgment that God will hold for believers only. It is known as the judgment seat of Christ. All believers will stand before God and be individually judged. All of us will give an account of what we have done after trusting Christ as Savior. Therefore, the judgment seat of Christ is a judgment of believers works after salvation. 2 Corinthians 5:10; Romans 14:10; Matthew 16:27; Ephesians 6:8; 1 Corinthians 3:10-15
C. The White Throne Judgment At the judgment, deceased unbelievers will be raised to life and judged according to their works—including thoughts, words, and actions which are being accurately recorded in divine books. The great white throne of judgment reminds us that God is just. That we can be freely forgive. That we need to be busy evangelizing the world. Romans 2:5-16; Matthew12:36-37; Revelation 20:12; Galatians 6:7; Matthew 5:44; Romans 12:19-21; 13:1-5; 2 Peter 3:9
